The keys on my car have never quite worked properly. When I first bought Tripp, the clicker worked for about two months, and then stopped working. When I took Tripp in for his three month checkup and mentioned it (thinking there might have been a batch of bad keys or something) the jerk at the service desk told me I was just using it wrong. I took Tripp in for an oil change today before I head out for Friendsgiving with Mea. I think that I mentioned the other day that my check engine light had come on. While I was out running errands earlier in the week it came on again. I called the dealership to get a service appointment, but they couldn’t get me in until Monday. And I’m supposed to drive down to NYRF this weekend. Sometime during our trip to The Cloisters, while I wasn't paying attention Saturday night, Tripp rolled over 100,000 miles.

My emergency/parking brake was getting loose again (perils of living/parking on an hill) so I took Tripp into the dealership this morning to get it tightened up again. Turns out, the caliper is frozen and we need to replace the caliper and rear brakes ( Read more... )

Tripp went in to the dealership for an oil change this morning, and came out with a new set of tires. Which I was kinda expecting. After 75K on the original set, I am not displeased with how the old tires wore. And as an added bonus, my car suddenly rides a lot quieter. Finally got an inspection sticker on Tripp. The problem with mid-winter inspections is the weather so often sucks, making it harder to find a day to get the damn chore done. In this case, I totally lucked out, both days the weather was sunny and glorious when I headed out to try to get inspected.

*Whew* One less thing to worry about.

I got up at 6:00 a.m. this morning, threw on some clothes, stuffed my laptop in my backpack, and headed out to be at the dealership for 7:00 a.m. Thankfully we only had nuisance levels of snow last night, so I only had to dust off Tripp, not shovel anything.
