So I saw my psychiatrist yesterday (who's different than my therapist) to get a new prescription of Cymbalta, as well as a new prescription to Lunesta to help me sleep when I need it. I had an AMAZING therapy session last night. I won't go into details because it'd be too long and probably boring for those of you not immediately involved in my childhood (i.e. all of you), but I'll just say WOW did I face some nasty shit in my own head last night...AND I WON! I dunno why, I think it must be nerves or something, but I can never sleep well the night before a therapy session. I think I got 4 hours of sleep last night. I actually look forward to therapy too...maybe it's excitement. I dunno, to be honest, but I'm hoping for a good session tonight. So today I am back on Cymbalta thanks to my P-Sychiatrist, and I'm excited. While medication isn't and end-all be-all to fighting or ending depression and anxiety, it certainly helps when facing it. I look at this this way...it's the difference between trying to get throug the jungle with either your bare hands or a machette. Both will work on some ( Read more... )

So in case y'all are wondering how therapy went last night, I have to say it went pretty well. I already like this new guy (he didn't fall asleep, which is good ;), and he has a really good way of looking at things at the same time being supportive and encouraging. So tonight I return to therapy for the first time in 5 months, and I'm both excited and nervous. I didn't get much sleep last night, but that's typical the night before a session for me. • Tonight: Laundry and apartment cleaning in preparation for Thursday, somehow fitting in Chuck and Heroes.
• Tuesday: Seeing Transformers in iMax with my buddy Ken.
