I've (yet again) redesigned my webpage. I did it to accommodate two projects that I wanted to devote some webspace to. It also gave me a chance to rewrite all the entries so that half the pages weren't "Under construction". I put my PhD thesis up there as well.

I got an email and then later a call from my brother. Turns out his girlfriend is pregnant and that I might be an uncle in November. I'm very glad for him, but I just don't know what to think about this with respect to my position. I was kinda happy being in stasis forever. Now our family is progressing. Yesterday was a day of little achievements. I played basketball, did some good work at the factory, thought up a bunch of good ideas for a project of mine, and programmed one of the last bits I needed to do in order to make corrections for my PhD thesis. A question came to me from where ideas usually come from (nowhere). Suppose you visit your doctor about some ailment and after much testing, the doctor says that you have a rare, complicated affliction such that it is almost certain you will die in two month's time. Turns out both websites were destroyed. Joel and I are working out what this means for TDL: a fresh start, a setback or an opportunity to quietly bow out. I think there's a lot of potential in The Dividing Line, but we'll see how it pans out.

For anyone who reads The Dividing Line, it's been down for the last week because our web hosting went from gratis to vamoose! Basically the guy who was ultimately responsible for giving us free hosting opted out and gave the server over to someone else. There's a chance that our site will resume on this new guy's server. I visited Danielle in hospital today. She's fine, ignoring the whole broken leg thing.
