So I passed my dissertation defense! WITH HONORS! :o

I promise to write about everything and respond to everyone's well wishes, but right now I need to take a NAP. :D

After poring through a couple books on theory, I found that all the qualities I posted yesterday can fall neatly into the Differentiated Mode of Giftedness and Talent (DMGT) by Francoys Gagné. I'm still waiting on my advisor to get back to me if she finds this acceptable or if, once again, she's going to tell me to try something else.

I pulled a cover letter together that I was pretty happy with, and I sent it out to two companies last night. Now I'll try and focus on writing some more and see if I get any nibbles. I woke up this morning and I feel really good, for a change. I'm not fussy or headachey or confused, and I have energy to get things done. I need to walk to the post office and mail something to Australia, but then I'm going to turn my attention to this big pile of dissertation articles I need to finish. Monday I finally heard back from the school district where I want to interview students, and I am APPROVED! I would have been really upset if they found something in my proposal on which to reject me, because I just want to talk to kids about their technology interests, and I doubt it will bring any undue stress to them. ;)

I really started focusing on my Methods chapter today. Pulled out all the articles and books on qualitative research and found the quotes I need to justify why I picked that approach.
