St. Thomas was wonderful. I had some free time during shows to slip over to the beaches and get some nice sun. It's such a startling difference from New York. I'm so used to seeing the tall skyscrapers and hot dog vender's selling pretzels, that when I head to the Virgin Islands it truly is another world.
Thursday Don and the gang joined me at Jack's Wings which was sponsored by 104.3 WZIN FM, The Buzz. We had a radio interview right after which was lovely. I drank some cocktails afterwards and headed over to the hotel lobby. Greg came along to keep me company while Don kept busy by talking to all the lovely young ladies there. Coki Beach seemed the best place to chill. We took advantage of the clear waters and went snorkeling. I wanted to learn how to scuba dive but we saved that for Friday morning. Greg found the most beautiful shells and spots some interesting fish. I also finally had the chance to use my underwater camera and shot a few pictures. I had the chance to make a nice shell necklace out of the shells I picked up but I'd rather leave them out there and not disrupt anything. Before the end of the night we ended up at a small village club as the perfect way to end the first night there.
Saturday we played in St. Croix for their Harborside Benefit Concert at Cane Bay also sponsored by 104.3. Greg and I took it easy at the beach, taking a short cruise ride around the Island. He's a ball of fun when he's around pleasant temperatures. It's wonderful to get a chance to go to the Virgin Islands at least once a year...for touring purposes of course. Another night of shopping, club hoping and soaking up sun before we were summoned back in St. Thomas.
And press Repeat. I came home with some nice trinkets, a load of pictures and beautiful memories.
