So far so good, I guess
So, biopsy says: Fibroadenoma. Not malignant, but they're sending me to have a consult with General Surgery to have them assess if it needs to be removed or not. Personally, I'm not big on the concept of surgical removal, but I guess it's up to what they recommend on this. Doctor knows best, right? But surgery?? Ugh. It's expensive, it makes scars, it opens me up to the possibility of infection... do not want.
But, on the upside, I should be able to start getting my birth control refilled again. Very very good news there. Last period was not of the happy. Much heavier, crampier, and generally more unpleasant.
I'm kind of amused by the fact that the call from my gyno at Planned Parenthood was more informative than the call from the Family Practice person. Given all my recent experience with various doctors offices, I'm still most pleased with the care at Planned Parenthood. They really are an awesome service. Will have to keep up my contributing and petition-signing on their behalf.
