Hey everyone. Been a while. More on that soon I hope - boy, have I been busy.

But first - wine! Just this past weekend I skimmed off a few ounces of each wine to taste, and decide what to do with it.

So, it's stopped fermenting, has a distinct woody "saskatoon" smell - well, at least that particular element of the smell. Temp was 19C, so I imagine all of the musts have been hanging out right about there, which is fine by me. It's the colour of a light blush, pink with a hint of purple and a hint of salmon! Awesome! Thursday evening, July 17/08: Checked wines. Strawberry smells yeasty and a little bit of alcohol, so hopefully it's on its way. Apple cider smells very slightly yeasty/alcoholic, hopefully it's coming. The saskatoon just smells of saskatoons, so I fear it didn't take - if it's not obviously fermenting in a couple days I shall have to try ( Read more... )
