My throat infection appears to be clearing nicely - I haven't anything more than a faint tickle left. And it's a comforting tickle, as opposed to the vexing irritation that greeted me last week. Then again, after all I've been through, perhaps the tickle is only relief in a relative sense.
The antibiotics I was given proved reasonably effective along with some medicinal lemonade, and though my energy has not fully recovered, my disposition mostly has, and even my voice is returning to normal, though losing the raspiness with which I can affect the voices of several evil villains (namely Ursula from The Little Mermaid) is a mixed blessing.
I went back to school on Tuesday, and spent more time there today, and thus I was able to become abreast of my assignments, and purchase some lunch from the local Subway. In addition to my usual Cold Cut Trio (the cheapest sandwich on the menu, thankyouverymuch) I also purchased the Cream of Potato with Bacon Soup. The taste was satisfactory, adequate even, though hardly spectacular. The "cream" in particular appeared to be little more than skim milk, at best. Alas, you get what you pay for, especially when you pay less than $3.99.
I am scheduled for my annual check-up and flu shot this Saturday, since the last vestiges of my infection are fading. Since I am still fighting off my infection, I decided to dress up today, wearing clothes slightly warmer than are typical of this time of year. The feeling of being a little too warm, rather than a little too cold, which has been the case for much of the year thus far, is a very comforting one. Also, my warmer wardrobe makes me look sharper, in my humble opinion.
And once again, a post on the quarter-hour! Proving that once again, even when I'm being unpredictable, I'm still being predictable! Let the good times roll...
