The new HBO comedy "The Flight of the Conchords" is brilliant- it's exactly like Prince's 1984 cinematic masterpiece "Purple Rain" except that it's intentionally funny:

Although it was in all probability the greatest pilot in the history of television (or aviation... Anthony Bourdain has a hilarious review/indictment of the Food Network and its major personalities over at the cooking blog Ruhlman. Even though there are still some really great shows on the Food Network, Bourdain's commentary is dead on.

After a recent Wallace Stegner binge it seems like I've been watching Westerns non-stop. The other day I watched "The Cowboys" with John Wayne, which I hadn't seen for at least ten years.
