A couple of things: True Blood is so EPIC this season. I love love love how all the plot lines (Jason and the newlins, Maryanne and Tara and the Vamps heading back from Dallas) are finally meeting up for the last three episodes. Some of the subplots were beginning to drag, but now that everything is about to collide, clusterfuck style, I AM SO EXCITED.
I love Godric. The actor is so talented, he managed to bring such a sad gravitas to the character even though he's such a tiny little guy. Yeah. Poor Eric. This show makes me feel so much.
One of the joys of writing fics is the excuse it gives you to rewatch episodes. I think Effy's season two episode would make my top five episodes EVER for this show. She's so marvelous and decisive and doesn't put up with whiny passive aggressive losers (god, why did she suddenly start to put up with them the minute she saw Freddie's pretty emo face?) And Madame De Luca was genius. Hilarious, pompous, but clever enough to really respect Effy. And say hello to...PANDORA lol. "They're girl and boy kissing!" hee.
Yeah, I think the last few eps of True Blood are going to be really awesome (or, I hope they will be). Mostly I can't wait to see what they do with Maryann - she's such a genuinely villian that I hope she goes out in a suitably awesome way.
Godric was such a great character (and I agree, it was excellent casting) that part of me wishes he'd stuck around, but I think in a way his little arc was so well-done that it would've ruined things if he'd stayed.
Madame De Luca! She was amazing. Series four needs guest characters that are more like her and less like Jonny White. And, yeah, Pandora gets short shrift in fandom but I kind of love her, and I love her friendship with Effy.
