It all starts
here.
First reaction is to fling herself backwards into the wall, and whatever it is at her neck comes with her. There’s a very solid thud noise, and the pain lessens. Thank god for that self defense class Veronica’s dad dragged them to.
Tearing herself free, Lily tries to run out of the alley, but something drags her back. Not knowing where the inspiration comes from, she throws herself backwards down onto the ground and flips the attacker out of the alleyway.
And then there’s suddenly nothing.
Nothing but dust spiraling downwards in the Californian sunshine.
And blood at her throat.
Okay, recap. She’s now sitting back in her car, with absolutely no sign of whatever it was that just attacked her. There’s a lot of dust now spread across the parking lot, and she has what feels like a bite on the side of her neck. And that’s even before she deals in the freaky strength and weird dreams.
Her fingers probe the bite on her neck, and she suddenly freezes as she realizes there are two puncture marks.
Just like Veronica told her to leave on Aaron.
What the hell is going on? And what exactly does Veronica know?
She checks her phone on the way over to Veronica’s. Logan’s called, sounding even more desperate than normal - can’t be that important though. Still, suppose she’d better find time to check in on her ‘boyfriend’ at some point.
And thinking of ‘boyfriends’, there’s Weevil. Hanging out with his biker friends, trying to look tough. Her lip curls. If they only knew him like she knew him….
Lianne Mars welcomes her in, and send Lily on up. Veronica’s welcoming smile quickly disappears as Lily picks her up by the throat with just one hand.
“We got some talking to do, ‘Ronnie.”
