I'm having such a lovely day! I was rather dreading my birthday this year after the mess of the last, but I decided to pull myself together.
This morning I opened my presents and then headed off for a netball match. I played two quarters, I think the best I've ever played (and you know from my previous sobs that I'm not great) and didn't fall over (although others did - slippery court). On the down side the scab on my knee came off last night leaving it gungy and very sore. We lost, but it was an evenly matched game and the final score was 38-35. Mum came to watch me play, the first time she's ever seen me doing sport (!). Then we went to a sugarcraft exhibition with Doreen (my mum's best friend's mother who had a stroke and now lives in a nursing home next to the courts I was playing at). Amazing stuff.
We got home and I was just settling down to doze over the papers when my Dad walked in! A wonderful surprise. A close friend of his died a few days ago and I wasn't expecting to see him.
And now I'm typing this (feeling happy!) and watching the first ep of S5 West Wing kindly lent to me by Jamie. Then I get to go bowling with my friends and tomorrow I get to go and buy a laptop, which my parents have clubbed together to buy me.
Generally, a Good Day.
