I want to work in a bookstore, and eventually run my own.

I need advice on how to tailor my resume and write a cover letter expressing my desire in spite of having negligible retail experience.

Does it make anyone else kind of uncomfortable that Borders' online application asks for your social security number? I'm used to putting it down on a piece of paper and handing it to a stranger, but for some reason setting it afloat through cyberspace makes me wary.
