I'm close to your view. I don't think I'd need a 10 year old to stand in line for a roller coaster for a full 1.5 hours, but I'm also not volunteering to do the whole shift myself. I can see trading off
( ... )
all of those suck, if you want it bad enough put in the time. Aint nothing in life coming easy or free so quit scamming those of us who have to work for what we want.
I think scenario 1 is totally acceptable. For scenario 2, I'd make the kid also stand in line for about a half hour. Lines suck, but if you want the ride that badly, you need to be willing to wait some! For scenario 3, kid gets to stand in line himself the whole time. This is a rite of passage thing to me, so you do all the steps yourself. For scenario 4, as long as everyone who wants a ticket is in line for part of the time, and it's NOT the parents the majority of the time, I'm fine with the parents being PART of the line group. That being said, what group of 20 year olds wants to stand in line for hours with their parents?!
I'd rather my kids learn to stand in line when they're young. They'll be standing in their own lines. I'd stand in if they needed to run to the bathroom or something but otherwise, no.
