I'm close to your view. I don't think I'd need a 10 year old to stand in line for a roller coaster for a full 1.5 hours, but I'm also not volunteering to do the whole shift myself. I can see trading off.

I'm conflicted about the concert ticket crowd though. Some part of me feels like the people in line should reasonably accurately reflect the resources they're going to consume. I don't know if I'd require precisely a 1-for-1 match with a large crowd, but ...

::flashback:: I had to stand in line (really) to get my kid into a swim class. I got the 24th ticket. I'm all happy, thinking there's no way my kid's not getting in, we're only #24 ... when I realize that everyone ahead of me is registering for multiple kids - and often for other people's kids and not just their own. So sure, I was #24, but I actually ended up being one of the last people who could register before they ran out of room. I'm betting that folks who got tickets #40+ would have liked to see that they didn't have 40 people in front of them, but really over 100. Then they could've just gone home.
