Is it acceptable for an adult to stand in line for a child?
Scenario 1: 5 year old child wants her face painted. The face painting line is ~30 minutes long. One adult stands in line for the child, while the child & other adult go do another activity the other adult or the child wanted to do.
Scenario 2: 10 year old child and adult want to ride a roller coaster. The line is ~1.5 hours long. The adult stands in line for both child & adult, while child and other adult go do another activity the other adult or the child wanted to do.
Scenario 3: 15 year old child wants his learner's permit. The line is 2 hours long. The adult stands in line for the child, while child & other adult go grab food.
Scenario 4: 20 year old wants concert tickets. So do 10 of his closest friends, oh, and his parents. :) They take turns standing in line (say, 2-3 of them in line at any given time) for 2 days, while the others go about their business.
Are any of these acceptable? Does it depend on the age of the person? On the thing they're in line for? Whether the number of people in line is a reflection of the number of people ultimately using the service (i.e. 1 person standing in line for 1 person, vs. 1 person standing in line for 10 people)?
