My opinion?
I think it's a batshit idea, and I'm religious. Prayers in conjunction with medical treatment are wonderful - good thoughts never hurt anyone. Prayers INSTEAD of a visit to the doctor? Completely stupid. I'm not relying on anyone other than myself and a doctor to get my kid fixed up. God (or whatever powers that might be up there) helps those who help themselves, and I doubt there would be any divine intervention if I wasn't actively trying to solve the problem myself.
