Here is my Galadriel White Council mock-up to date. The only thing remaining is the hem (and some finishing touches which I will skip). This is per the pattern instructions, except I’ve made the skirt about 6 inches narrower. I started tapering it in at the hip. Since I needed to rest my foot, I spent a lot of time working on my Galadriel mock-up. I took it in at the princess seams, because it was way too big. I will fit it more when I get a zipper in.

I finished the collar and put interfacing behind and French-hemmed the sleeves and basted one on. I will baste the other and try on before finishing them.

I spent this past Saturday sewing 10 feet of skirt to 2 feet of top. The gathers didn't work; the fabric's too heavy and there was too much. I added more because of the deep pleats in the front. In hindsight, this was unnecessary, but the mock-up IS the dress because I'm quickly running out of time ( Read more... )
