Frustrating weekend
After fighting with my machine for more almost two hours, I finally resigned myself to the fact that the only way I was going to get this zipper in was to hand-sew it.
This material is heavy and I'd get to a dart and the thing would jam up. I hadn't even gotten close to the skirt with its many thicknesses of pleats.
I hate hand-sewing. It takes forever; I'm not particularly good at it; and this fabric is textured enough that it's really hard to see where I've been. Fortunately, most of this will be under the corset (if I ever get the bloody thing made).
Still working on fixing the pleat issue. I don't think my first try worked, but I'll have to pick it up there later. Frankly, it's too hot in here to try it on right now anyway.
