Celebrity Mathemagicians Among Us
I think I recall hearing that Danica McKellar earned a B.S. in math from UCLA, but until recently I was not aware that she co-authored a proof that was published in a peer-reviewed magazine. That's pretty freakin' hardcore for an undergrad.
She also runs a big math section on her website, where she answers math questions and promotes her new "Yay, math!" book, which is geared toward middle school girls. And she hangs with the mini-mathletes at St. Jude's. Seriously, why can't all the actors from the shows I watched growing up turn out this cool? I'm getting the urge to write fan mail.
