In Which There Is Joy

Nov 29, 2006 10:00

This year I'll be spending the last two days of November hammering out a final 6,000 words, as opposed to that time I vomited out 20,000 words in the same span of time. Right now I'm fighting valiantly against the urge to edit all the parts that are Really Bad and also to run through and see how many times I had a brain-splat and let my dichromatic protagonist see colors outside his personal spectrum. This is why NaNoWriMo is so much fun.

In awesome news, I mentioned to my boss that I'm going out this weekend to buy a Wii with NEW ZELDA ACTION (I described my relationship with Link as "BFF since since 1987"). She expressed great Zelda love and told me that she once hand-made a full Link costume for her son, which she said she would be happy to give me if it weren't sized for an eight-year-old. I love my boss.

(Parenthetically, it occurs to me that the twentieth anniversary of the series is fast-approaching. Bludgeon a Gleeok to death with the Wand in celebration! A party somehow based around the motif of the trading game would be delightfully apropros.)

Now if only the weather were not irrationally, unseasonably hot, my joy would be unadulterated.
