The first casualty of politics is self-awareness

What are you thinking, Scotland? This is hardly the time to be leaving any Unions. No new referendum for you!

But why, Auntie Theresa?

"It would be unfair to the people of Scotland that they would be being asked to make a crucial decision without the information they need to make that decision."

YES. YES THAT WOULD BE BAD. TO MAKE A CRUCIAL DECISION. WITHOUT THE INFORMATION NEEDED TO MAKE THAT DECISION. WE SHOULD NOT DO THAT.

PERHAPS IF WE FOUND OUT THAT WE HAD DONE THAT WE SHOULD NULLIFY THE OBVIOUSLY FUCKING STUPID DECISION.

ALSO IF WE HAD BEEN DEMONSTRABLY, MALICIOUSLY AND CALLOUSLY MIS-INFORMED.

ALSO IF THE DECISION WASN'T GOING TO DO ANY OF THE THINGS IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DO.

ALSO IF THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE OF IMPLEMENTING THE DECISION HADN'T BOTHERED TO FUCKING FIND OUT WHAT THE IMPACT OF THAT DECISION MIGHT BE. BUT WERE GRIMLY PLOWING AHEAD WITH IT REGARDLESS.

MAYBE WE SHOULD NOT DO THAT. BECAUSE IT WOULD BE UNFAIR. TO TAKE SUCH A MOMENTOUS DECISION. WITH LESS THOUGHT THAN MOST OF US WOULD PUT INTO BUYING A SECOND-HAND CAR.

ALSO IT WOULD BE INSANE.
