I've been getting bunches of people who have empty journals friending me. Which is kind of weird. I mean okay I TOTALLY support getting a journal not to post in, but to get notifications of posts and to be able to comment without being anonymous. TOTES GET AND SUPPORT THAT ACTION! Although I guess if you get friended by moonlapse you'd be all WTF at his journal having not been updated in a millennia and also wonder who the heck that guy is - I know HE does when he reads back through his posts. xD
