Brought Kwee Fong to Buckaroo BBQ & Grill restaurant this evening. The restaurant is located at Andrews Avenue, an extremely ulu place near Sembawang Park. But hey, I stay in Sembawang, so the ulu-ness doesn't affect me...haha
Being a forever chicken lover, I am drawn to this place because of their famous buffalo wings, which comes with a spicy scales from 1 to 10.
Just to be on the safe side, we ordered level 1 wings :-) The wings are quite huge, bigger than those bbq chicken in hawker centre. And it comes with a slight sourly taste, which I find quite tantalizing...yum...Level 1 is ok, just a bit spicy. I'll recommend other first-time-goer to try at least their level 2 volcano wings.
Another die-die must try dish is their cream of mushroom. Honestly, this is the best tasting mushroom soup I've ever tasted. It is served in a very, very crispy (and tasty) bun. This thing is huge! Best for 2 pax to share.
Talking about size, look for a photo with 5 balls and 1 sausage shaped dish in the photo below. 5 balls the size of muffin. And they are? Button mushroom. Yes! Button mushroom at this size! Quite scary when it was first served to us. It was until we eat it then we realised that majority of it comes from batter. Taste so so, won't recommend this dish unless you're into deep fried stuff. Btw, the sausage shaped thingie is deep fried green chilli.
We ordered 1 main dish to share (luckly, coz we're already 80% full after eating all the gigantic size "side dishes"). The pan fried john dory, as expected, is another dinosaur. Taste ordinary, or might be because we're already quite full.
