Stuff, in random order. Again.

1. Ivy's language development is actually moving again. In the past week or so, she's started saying "Gran" for Grandma (Juanell is pleased!), "tee" for tea...and TV...and kitty..., "mo" for more, "dow" for down and/or done, "nest" for Clifford's Puppy Days (this makes sense because one of the episodes is "Best Nest"). There's still a lot of point-and-yell, but she's definitely making verbal strides.

2. Meanwhile, Maggie's potty development has regressed. After months of consistently using the toilet, she's made three or four puddles a week for the past couple of weeks. Always at home. She's been dry at night. rainfletcher and I are quite concerned: school starts in less than a month, and of course we fear that our daughter will pee in the middle of the classroom and then never live it down. Is she subconsciously indicating that she's not ready for school yet? Is something physically wrong? Or is she simply highly distractable? She's very excited for school, so I'm loath to cancel her enrollment, but it's hard to know what would be best for her. Troubling.

3. Mirage woke me up from a sound sleep by peeing on my hand. Guess the long trek to the litter box was just too much. She has lost a lot of her spryness lately. Still very lovey and sweet.

4. I went to the dentist yesterday. Sigh, he found my very first cavity. Though it's pretty impressive that I made it to nearly age 39 without needing any tooth-related intervention save wisdom teeth extractions.

5. Finally got the title I wanted for my druid: Salty Tityre. I was down to a single coin out of the Dalaran fountain, plus the two raid catches. After literally weeks of intermittent fountain fishing, I was actually startled to see the final coin achievements appear on my screen. We immediately went off to Zul'Gurub...and waited for about an hour for an instance to come available. Then to Serpentshrine Cavern...where we waited another hour for an instance. Died twice each, but caught the fish and gained the title. It's great because it's one of the rarer titles, limited as it is by the requirement to win the Fishing Tournament, which is only offered once a week.

6. I took the girls to Balboa Park one day last week. We wandered extensively, listened to the organ a bit, ended up at the car museum. Maggie was fascinated. "You can see da inside of da car!" "Dat one wooks wike a wagon!" "Dose are racing motorcycles a'cuz dey have numbers on dem!" The Natural History museum currently has the Body Worlds exhibit so there were giant posters of skinless people all over the park. Which, yay science, and yay knowledge, and yay anatomy, but frankly I'd rather look at drawings of people's muscles and not photos of plastinated muscles, let alone actual plastinated muscles. Ick.
