All kinds of stuff going on.
Work. Coming up on 1 year at HPB. Eleven months to be exact. It's a mix of good and bad. Good? The benefits are great! We have the Christmas party coming up soon. I also have the Quarterly Profit Sharing bonus, the Christmas bonus AND my 1 year bonus all coming up in a few weeks. I like and get along with 90% of my fellow employees. I just came off my third week-long vacation in 11 months (fucking crazy!) and we have health care that is really decent. My 401(k) is rolling along (20 years late). The bad? The new manager has been driving people crazy lately. She does a lot of things that interferes with us getting things done. I told one of the irked employees today that I've been in retail enough years that I know managers come and go; you just have to weather the storm.
Midnight Monster Movies has been great. We got the theater problem fixed and this past show went awesome. We reached a compromise that has the episode of the serial before midnight start but that I need and get 20 minutes of preshow so I can get my set prepped. If the movie before me lets out and makes my seating 10 minutes late, my movie starts 10 minutes late then. We started a youtube channel and have migrated the video clips from the show to it. The plan is to incorporate (likely as an LLC) in January and then start making DVDs to sell. It will be a different show than the live show seeing as I will have to actually follow a script to keep the show tight and moving.
We've come off two months of strong shows. The audience was huge for October and the audience, while not nearly the same size as before, was still a bigger crowd than the last time we were scheduled opposite Rocky Horror. We've finally had the resolution of the "Dr. E" storyline by revealing Dr. Bob's nemesis, Rick Edison. We have storyline's through February dealing with the repercussions from that.
October's Nosferatu show (btw, if you have 3-D glasses, some of the movie is still viewable in 3-D)

And the newest show. Warning, explosions and zombie armies.

This last show, one of the guys at work watched it and said "Bob, do you have to start working on the next show the day after you finish your show? How do you have time?" That kind of is a nice compliment. I don't really work that way but I am working on several shows at a time. They're just in various states of completion.
Wow... I just thought about it, last month's show was the last movie of my original set. When I approached the theater with this back in December and January, I had all 7 of Chris Mihm's movies lined up, Abe's Tomb and then Nosferatu 3-D. I didn't originally have that lined up for a live band but, after watching the dvd a few months in, we hated the soundtrack so badly I had to come up with a replacement. So that was the original lineup.
Lineup for the next few months
December - The Green Slime (I originally didn't want to do it but 1) it's public domain and 2) I saw the good Warner Archive print of it at the sci-fi marathon this year and it looks really good so I'm using it)
January - Traumatic Possession 3-D (a first time director with a "found footage" movie)
February - Mega Python vs. Gatoroid (a REALLY bad film with Tiffany & Debbie Gibson. I originally wasn't going to do it but The Asylum went ahead and gave me permission so...)
March - Last Bikini on Earth (a remake of Last Woman on Earth from a local director) AND a Mihmathon of all 7 Chris Mihm movies that I've converted to 3-D,
April & May - I've got plans for movies I'm trying to fill. Really wanting to get the Manos Restoration for one of the months.
June - The Giant Spider (Chris Mihm's newest movie and an Ohio premiere)
ok, night people.
