I am on my first day of a week long vacation. It's so nice to have job that not only offers vacation but encourages employees to go. I know I can use the time off. It's a good job (for retail) with great benefits (for any job) but we work very hard for it and the time off is much needed. We'll be going to King's Island tomorrow, then we need to hit Midnight Shift's Con Air since we agreed to help shadowcast that with small roles. Then, next week, I need to paint at least one of the three rooms left to paint, probably the remaining stairwell, and then I have some work to do for Midnight Monster Movies with Dr. Bob. Yea, that's still going. It's kind of taken over and Dr. Bob is driving a new path.
This was the show from July. We've now had the last episode of Christopher R. Mihm's movies and next month will be a big question mark. We'll see how it turns out. This month was rough. We had a really stormy day AND Studio scheduled Nite Owl Theater opposite my show for the first time. Found out we only had one less than they did so that's ok. And the theater is very supportive. I just hope they stay in business. At least my show isn't costing them anything.
We have some show plans that are kinda crazy. In March (probably), we'll be doing a marathon of all seven of Chris Mihm's movies that I'm going to convert to 3-D (except for one movie that will be shadowcast by the Midnight Shift). Also in October, the Armstrong Air & Space Museum will be showing Attack of the Moon Zombies with Dr. Bob there. We've figured out a way to make DVDs of Dr. Bob to sell and make a little money. I didn't want to go the usual public domain route that every other horror host does because why does someone need yet another copy of Teenagers from Outer Space or House on Haunted Hill? But they do that because they don't have to pay for rights. So, the plan is to do 3-D conversions of PD films and sell them with Dr. Bob host segments. After all, Freaks in 3-D ... when the guy with no arms or legs is crawling at the end with a knife in his mouth? Scary as HELL!
My dad's wife has been diagnosed with breast cancer. It will probably be ok. She gets a mammogram every year and so it's likely been caught early enough. I had a couple of friends ask to borrow money the other day to get through a tight spot. They will pay us back but we don't have much. Elsa & I looked over the finances and were able to spare a little bit.
I have a pretty packed life right now. I'm essentially living 2 lives in one body. One of the women at work said I'm burning the candle at every end. I'm going to try to get some relaxation in this week at least. I've been feeling a little lonely because of how busy I am. My time is in such high demand that I can't give anyone as much attention as I would like. This vacation should help. At the very least, it gives me an extra 8 hours in a day.
