So this week other than the last post has been quite incredible. I have 3 really great people from Germany (well technically 1 of them is going to school in Austria). It was the first time we really had overnight guests that spent more than an evening at our humble abode. Anyways the first day I picked them up at the bus station at 3:30 est. We drove back to Catonsville and the first night I had a dj gig with Pablo and Paul at Chief Ike's Mambo room in Adams Morgan. I brought my 3 friends, my roomate, and two of my other friends from Baltimore. There weren't many other people there the whole night we played some ska/reggae/soul for the small crowd. Anyway the booze was pouring like a tsunami and much drunkness was had by one and all. The 2nd day everyone had a lazy day of just mainly hanging out. We did some stuff in Hampden went to the space age local joint, Rocket to Venus. Than hanging out at my buddies place watching pointless American tv like cops, reno 911, and cheaters. Thursday we drove to Philadelphia to see the Skatalites. We picked up these 2 fellows in howard county that are going to school in the states but are from Copanhagen, Denmark. It was a very cultural trip having 3 people from germany, 2 dudes from denmark, and 4 diverse people from the US. A cultural mix of people all sharing common interests. Friday we went record shopping and they deicded to go see my friends spin in Baltimore that night. I went to my night in DC at soundclash. Saturday was sort of sad it was the first night they weren't at our house and the last day in town. I picked them up and we made our way to the airport. It was sad to say goodbyes. The girls slept most of the car ride to the airport. I realized once again how cool it is to share your life with people from a different part of the world. You easily realize how many common day to day struggles you share. Also this trip I really got to know each of those people in a different light. And it makes me feel pretty awesome when they tell me how much better Baltimore is than New York.
