An Ode to Live Journal

Feb 20, 2006 23:22

There was a time when I didn't have to type more than two letters to take me to the loverly live journal page.
There was a time when I was constantly logged in.
I knew my password like my own name.
Live journal was the place for all happenings, eventful and un. Happy and sad. Many friendships were kept current, and a few friends lost. Fights were had, quizzes posted, laughs had. You learned about people with live journal, saw their thoughts, and feelings, even the music they listened to.
And for what? So it could dwindle away into the all consuming hole that is myspace? I suppose so.
Perhaps I will even try posting on myspace. Perhaps its not that bad. Perhaps its even great. But can it ever compare to the small intimate gathering of friends and thoughts and feelings that live journal did? I think not! And I hope that someday the luster of these new fads fade, and we can return to our happy, quiet home that was, and still will be... live journal.
You are missed, and very loved.
