Criminal Minds is approaching its last gasp. The final 10 episodes have been filmed and production has shut down - there's nothing left but to pray that the writers don't bork the ending utterly (not holding my breath). I haven't been a good fan over the past few seasons. To be honest, the show's been cringe-worthy since before Thomas Gibson got the boot. I kept watching sporadically just to keep on top of fandom canon. Reid's character arc took a hard left turn in the past 2 seasons culminating it the complete handwaving of his personality in season 14's finale. I saw that, pushed away from the table, and declared "I'm out".
Then I wrote a fix-it fic that makes only me happy. Honestly, I don't care what anyone thinks about this one because I wrote it for my peace of mind. That's it. and perhaps as a tiny FUCK. YOU. to the CM writers room.
So, here is possibly my last Criminal Minds fic based anywhere close to canon. End of an era.
