Week 14 is up at 52 Weeks. I'm pretty sure I'm not cut out for NaNoWriMo. I only have around 3000 words and we're more than a quarter into November
( Read more... )
Saj is right. if you packed your days so full that you never got to see your wonderful wide, then maybe you'd feel more productive... but would it be worth it?
that said, I know what you mean. here I am, 25, unemployed AGAIN, hoping to hell that I can get something remotely related to my field, and still I wonder... what happened to art? what happened to dreams of pottery and sculpture classes? what happened to practicing drawing? and what, for that matter, happened to singing and being in a community choir? or going to a run everyday? or studying Chinese and planning a trip to China?
we all have hopes and dreams that we're not getting to, but I think it's just a matter of having the time/energy to get to them. if you get exhausted at the thought of pursuing them, maybe it means that your life is already full with activities and stuff to do (even if it isn't theatre related). when things free up a bit, then you'll have the energy to go after creative pursuits.
and on the note of NaNoWriMo, don't feel bad. I'm only at 3,400 words myself. I think it takes a couple of attempts at it before you're actually able to stay on top of the daily word count. the real point of NaNoWriMo (for me, anyway) is to think about writing every day, and keep trying to write and plan to write, and if other things pop up, well I'll try again tomorrow.
man, Mol sure can yap. *hugs!*, anyway, and I hope you feel better. :)

Thanks Mol. Like Saj, you have good reminders to offer. I certainly don't want to lose anymore time with Kate. With her shift work we already see each other less than I'd like.
And thanks for the words on NaNoWriMo. I just need to get into the swing of writing every day. I find that hard.
I hope you get your interviews! And if you do (fingers crossed), then best of luck on 'em. ( :
