Jobee...

Tomorrow I have an interview with The Machine. I've been looking for a second, evening, job to supplement my inconstant production job. They're looking more for someone with day availability so I doubt I'll get the position, but at least getting a chance to interview is a good start. I haven't interviewed for a job since 2006 when I applied for the gas station near my then current apartment. Before that was 2004 for my job with Home Depot. So I'm 50/50 when it comes to successful interviews. We'll see how well I can do. If not, the experience of actually having a formal interview again could be worth it in the future.

Recently I watched Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog for the first time. I can't believe I waited so long for this. I could not stop laughing. Neither could Laura. We ended up borrowing the DVD and watched (listened?) to Commentary: The Musical. That had some funny parts, but paled compared to the main feature.

For the first time in a while, Laura and I had a weekend filled with new experiences. Saturday we went out see X-men Origins: Wolverine. I liked the movie. It wasn't as good as the first two X-men movies, but I felt it was solid. There was nothing special other than the super powers to pull it from a standard revenge movie, but the leads were outstanding for the subject material. Laura went to work, but afterward we went out to a bar. This was the first time being to any of the bars in Rockford. We went with one of her coworkers and met some people who worked in the other nearby stores. I had a surprisingly good time, as I usually don't enjoy going to bars unless I'm with a few outgoing friends.

Sunday I woke up, watched a DVD, then read until Laura returned from work. When she got back I actually spent time outside playing frisbee. It wasn't frisbee golf, but it was fun. Hopefully I'll be able to do some frolfing sometime in the near future. Then we went to the driving range. Playing with Laura's clubs is interesting as she is much shorter than I am so I really have crouch a bit to hit the ball.

This next weekend will be spent down in Yorkville for Mother's Day. For the first time I've gotten her something other than a card. Maybe I'm actually maturing into some form of adult?
