Happy Thankskgivings are wished to all of the Americans on my flist. I wish safe, smooth trips to those of you who are traveling, patience and peace to those of you who will be getting along with hordes of family members, and superhuman endurance to those of you who, like me, are cooking up a storm this year. ;-) (My mother will be here in the morning to be my sous-chef, but I have loads of prep work to do tonight.)
And, because I was asked, this is my Thanksgiving menu for this year, now finalized:
Cheese tray with Stilton and Cheddar, along with figs and dates
Orchard Salad with pears, cubed Brie and toasted pecans
Roast Turkey with Maple Bacon and Bourbon Glaze

Ciabatta Stuffing with Pancetta and Roasted Chestnuts

Brussels Sprouts with Garlic and Pine Nuts

Maple Walnut Pie with Rum Whipped Cream
Butternut Squash Tart
And now I'm back to the prep work. Happy cooking and eating and football watching and snoozing, everybody! (Oh, but don't watch the Lions game. They're so terrible. :-/ )
