Working, mostly.
Oh, and I found
this doujinshi on eBay-- my shock at seeing what the featured pairing was quickly gave way to delight. I balked at the price, but when I told Jeff about it, I didn't get the usual buying-too-much-shit-on-eBay lecture (maybe because I've been doing well lately on the selling side of things, or maybe it's due to my current work situation being fairly decent, or maybe it's because... he's Cid ^_~), so I took that as a hint that I should get it. Might be picking up some other doujin as well (still have some books to add to my Vincent-kun collection, after all)... we'll see.
Also picked up Reunion Files recently-- fantastic book in both design and execution. Paid about $11 more than the ¥2400 cover price, but I couldn't wait for HobbyLink Japan to get it back in stock, so I hauled ass to Kinokuniya late last week.
Made a return trip to Kinokuniya yesterday to pick up Vol. 8 of the FMA manga-- great stuff, as usual. Apparently there are some major WTF chapters coming up a few more books down the line (forgot the numbers; I think they're in the fifties); with all the twists and turns already in the series, I can barely imagine what such a revelation could be (of course... I don't want any spoilers, plz). She's a fantastic mangaka, that Ms. Arakawa.
Okay, enough with the shopping ;) I also finished FF4 recently-- definately the most depressing Final Fantasy game I've played to date. Cecil's adventure has so much angst, he makes Cloud Strife look like Quina Quen; makes me want to slap Squall Leonheart's emo ass even more. As for FF4's battle mechanics... eh. In short, the game didn't really grab me.
Anyway, I've since moved on to Phantom Brave, which is a Nippon Ichi tactical RPG with-- get this-- no grid on the battle fields. That's just one of the many aspects of the game I've been getting used to. So far, it's not as compelling as La Pucelle and especially Disgaea were, but I'll play through it all the same. The next Nippon Ichi game I'd like to play after that is Makai Kingdom, which (as I understand) is a lot more in the vein of Disgaea. However, I also recently acquired Dragon Quest VIII (okay, more shopping! Sorry!), and it was a tough decision whether to play that or Phantom Brave first. So many games, so little time...
Okay, okay, even more stuff: I've started using Mog again, as I have some fannish-type projects I'm planning out (not to mention that I'm still working on the Blue Shinra and Loveless revised editions) and much prefer to do that sort of work with a laptop. Also, we may be getting a cat-- however, I had a dream last night where the main feature was a cat and a kitten shitting all over the house (then we set up a litter box, and instead of little brown nuggets, their shit was bright orange; for the older feline, it came out in spherical forms each about the size of a baseball. In the dream, my theory was that it was due to the curry cat food I had fed them that morning).
And with those lovely images, 'till next time...
