Do not say Turkey Day to me

The postgrad graduation ceremony was today. I didn't attend of course, but I see all of the graduates and their parents walking around campus. My sempai Luca was in there somewhere. Apparently in Scottish graduation ceremonies, there is no mortarboard. At Edinburgh, you just wear the fancy robes. Then when they call you up to the stage, you get your diploma and then booped with a 400-year-old hat. If I play my cards right, I too will get booped next November. I'll ask Luca how it was.

Things have been cold and rainy. I did pull an all-nighter to finish my presentation that was due Tuesday. I think I rocked it. I got a lot of good if not thought-provoking feedback from my coursemates and professors about my theories and how I can apply them to the final paper due in two weeks.

We have also been subtitling in class. Looking around for something to subtitle for my paper on that that is due next week. I want to do manzai (Japanese stand up comedy) or a variety show like "Kismy busaiku"

Saturday, we went to see the screening of the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special in 3d at the movie theatre. It was showing on the 4 or 5 biggest screens and every seat was filled. We had to sit in the nose bleeds, but were relatively lucky. It was expensive, but really fun to share the experience with hundreds of others and see the bonus theatre exclusive stuff, like an anchorman-doctor who collab. Who thought that up?! Give that person a crown and a scepter.

Yesterday, John and I went on an adventure to find a turkey for Thanksgiving, then somehow both of us ended up at knitting society. I'm telling you boys, join knitting society. The girls are nice and cool and they'll fall in love with you. It doesn't happen the first meeting though. You have to stick with it. I wonder if he'll come again. Despite all of us confusing him with the basics of knitting, he did pretty well.

Tomorrow I will be spending the day cooking Thanksgiving dinner for my small group at my pastor's house. He just gave me the keys last week and told me I could let myself in to do what needed to be done, haha. My first turkey attempt in Japan was ok but could've been better. I think I learned a lot. We'll see how this one turns out tomorrow. Any turkey tricks? I'm also responsible for the green bean casserole, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, and sweet potatoes. Haven't been able to find the canned cranberry sauce.

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!
