Washcloths

The first thing I really learned how to knit was washcloths. It's fast, flat, and is useful, which hits all of my requirements for knitting even now. (I'd like to learn how to knit in the round, but I hold my needles in a very weird way which makes it difficult to use circulars.) So when I get the urge to knit something that doesn't take much thought I pick up a skein of Sugar and Cream and go to town on some washcloths. I've tried probably a half a dozen different patterns, and while I didn't dislike any of them, I always try a new pattern the next time I get the urge. These two were no different. I picked up two skeins of this Christmas-y yarn back in December, with the idea I'd get these done for my mom for Christmas. Whoops.

The first is simply a 2x2 ribbing. Nothing fancy. And pretty boring to knit. I don't know if I like it or not, but I feel like the ridges might help with scrubbing.

I went for a more difficult pattern I found on Ravelry called Kitty Love. I admit, that my variegated yarn was probably the wrong choice for this. But eh, it still turned out ok. I can kind of see the kitty...I think.
