Washcloths

The first thing I really learned how to knit was washcloths. It's fast, flat, and is useful, which hits all of my requirements for knitting even now. (I'd like to learn how to knit in the round, but I hold my needles in a very weird way which makes it difficult to use circulars.) I was thinking of crocheting some washcloths but was held back because I thought they wouldn't be very sturdy. Do you find that the ones you knit hold up very well over time?

Definitely. That cotton thread is really solid. I have some that are a couple years old and going strong.
