A. I watched due South today (BBC2 lunchtimes never used to be this exciting), the episode where Vecchio had to shoot the Riv. *memories*
2. Good news about Callum on The Hour this Friday - I know a few of us have wished he would get the interview treatment on that show for a while, especially since Hugh and Paul have both been guests previously. It's finally Callum's turn. Wheee!

This is "episode 9" - Stairways to Perceptions. Can't believe it's almost the end.
Opening sequence, Ben and a punchbag. ooh hello. He looks hot as if he's having a flashback.
It's Wee!Ben on a swing!
OMFG, he DID have a bastard daddy.
There's the strap. And the lightbulb. All those triggers... and wow. Brutal doesn't quite cover what's happening to the kid. :\
Wee!Ben appears to have an alter!
He's a smart cookie, makes his escape. Keep running Ben! *urges him on*
Wee!Ben meets nice lady in the park. She'll keep him safe. Unless she's going to be creepy too. ?!? Nah.
...he's called Ted! AND SO IT BEGINS.
Terry and Ben in the locker room. Ben sizzles. I KNOW. He's just doing up his tie, but it is HIGHLY distracting. ;)
Terry is concerned, not sure if it's for his own ribs or Ben's state of mind. Heh.

Ah, it's really a 20 year old case - woman suspects her father must have killed her sister when they were kids.
Her dad came back with an empty bag?? Creeeepy.

The team bicker about therapists. Ben is on the defensive.

Vina examines autopsy photos. There are indescrepencies! But of course.
They're going to have to exhume the body aren't they. :S
Aww wee!Ben/Ted and the lady. Okay, she WILL keep him safe. *relieved* Not sure about those charcoaled burgers she's feeding him, I half expected her to whisk him to the nearest McDonalds. *g*

The Accused is pleading innocent, he thinks the father did it too.
The General is on the defensive - he's not being very helpful at all. Makes me think HE SCREWED UP.

Hall and Terry are going to speak to the dead girl's father. Let's see what he has to say for himself.

The mother has arrived. She seems a bit... conflicted.
Okay the father is having a heart to heart with the daughter. :\ He suddenly doesn't seem so angry. Huh.
Surprise! The mother lied. In your face, General! HA.
WOAH. The SISTER did it. Well, that was one hell of an accident. o.O
Ben goes to tell The Accused the true story.
"Take solace in the fact you'll be free soon." Hmm. I wonder if this is what Ben hopes for himself too?
Flashback: Nice Policeman finds wee!Ben alone on the swings. Maybe that's why he decides to be a cop. :)
Ben is back with the Doc... So Ben was missing for a year?
He was in foster care! He joined the military then the police when he was old enough! Good to have a bit more of his backstory there.
Chapters missing! They need to figure it out! But! But! HOW ARE THEY GOING TO DO THIS WHEN THERE IS ONLY ONE MORE EPISODE! ARRRGGGHHHH.

I loved this episode, though I feel it would have had much more of an impact had we seen the lead up to this point. The case of the week, a 20 year old murder case that is reopened because the woman remembered something iffy about her past? Well played on the suppressed memories theme. I like that we see the moment where something snaps in wee!ben's head bringing about the first alter, Ted. Assuming that was the first one. Did he stay as Ted for a year as he was living with the nice lady? WHO KNOWS. But I like that we get a glimpse of this, and see the start of how Ben became the way he is. Even if it is HEARTBREAKING. Poor wee!Ben.
So episode 13 is coming up, meaning they have 44 minutes to find Ben's son (or a big clue, at least), and tie up LOTS of loose ends. It really should have another season but I doubt they'll give it one at this point. :( All I can hope for is a satisfying conclusion to THIS season, be it happy or sad.
Erm. The Universal (UK) site don't appear to be showing the episodes at all. Or if they are, they are so well hidden I can't find them. I did watch the pilot episode on there when the series started, but maybe they only meant to show snippets after that?*scratches head* Anyway, the vids are gone, scrap the idea of capturing the missing episodes off the website, if anyone was so inclined. /PSA.
