Okay, it's not the real 1x08. I might re-number these at some point, as the whole thing is messed up. See previous post for correct order etc.etc.
ANYway. As this is the newest and 8th episode that has aired, the usual spoilery ramble lies under the cut! :D
Episode 8: In The Dark!
Previously on Shattered: shooting range scenes we have not seen. I should be used to this by now. *glares at Global* Ahem.
Let's get right into it! HI, RAGING BEN. This could almost be Sam! Except he doesn't want to kick the crap out of the Doc so I assume this is Ben with all his faculties.
Very intense session about his blackouts. He just wants it to stop! *pets him*
And now we have a woman alone in her kitchen. She must be the victim o' the week.
Back to Ben and the Doc asks him how much he's drinking. Ah, but Ben doesn't drink ("I've been sober 9 years"). Interesting.
Woman in her kitchen again. Loud noises coming from the backyard! Come on lady, it's not racoons. IT'S NEVER RACOONS.
Ben again. Wants explanations the Doc just can't give him. Maybe the Doc's drunk right now, he's not being as smart as he usually appears to be, and Ben is getting frustrated!
"Maybe I dress like a woman and bark like a dog! Then I drink!" LOL. That would be some party. ;)
"Maybe I drink but it's not me." Bingo.
Aww no! That's chasing Ben away. Lookit his little face! He's not ready to deal yet.
Woman is still convinced it's racoons. Now she's on the porch. In the dark. *bites nails*
OHMYgod. Told you so! Not a fluffy racoon butt in sight. Now there is a psycho in a mask dragging her back in the house. *creeped out*
Yup, there she is. Deader than dead. :\ Vina does her thing, momentarily distracted by the victim's garden. Ookay then.
Amy is getting emotional again.

Luckily for them, a neighbourhood watch guy got a license plate of a strange car parked outside the victim's house. Hmmm.
They have a suspect - Bernard, who works in a nursing home.
Amy and Ben have some questions for one of Bernard's co-workers. She doesn't want to gossip but.... heh.
Bernard sleeps with the residents?!? Um. Ew?
"He likes older women." UNDER. STATEMENT.
Ah ha. Amy thinks it's a different suspect. Who's it gonna be? *awaits*
Previous rape victim comes in to talk to Amy and Ben. She's describing what happened to her, this is exactly what happened to Racoon Lady!
Oh boy, this gets emotional. Amy is losing it a little here.

Ben says it's time for dinner. Amy looks disappointed he's not taking her with him. Aww.
Ben is back in Racoon Lady's house, double checking things? I hope the detectives got all the DNA and photos they needed before Ben started going through the underwear drawer. *g*
Noises outisde. NOT THE RACOONS AGAIN?!? If one hair on Ben's head is touched......!!!!!
*phew* I think he's safe. Screws the porch lightbulb back in. Oooh interesting, another trigger and a blackout in 5, 4, 3....
Aaaaand he's asleep in his car. Wakey wakey! :) Amy teases him. Feeling delicate, Ben?
He has an empty bottle next to him, and a lightbulb in his pocket. I think Harry's been on the loose again. :D
Amy's being nosey, wondering where Ben's been all night. Ah, Amy. If he knew, I...don't think it would be wise to tell. HEE.
Terry and Hall in their car, discussing Bernard's appetite for the much older ladies. Terry is disgusted, Hall... has no shame, apparently. *g*
Amy and Ben are off to question the Professor. Oooh. Anger issues, much?
Pam has Ben and Amy in her office now saying the Professor is pleading harrassment. WTF.
Ben knows Amy is really bothered by the case.. he offers that she can say anything to him. I LOVE HIM. <3

Terry and Hall have found Bernard! They bring him in for questioning. Terry is playing bad cop, I think.
Ben skips the meeting with Pam to visit the Doc again, he is concerned by his latest blackout behaviour. (Ben doesn't smoke. Or drink. Or steal lightbulbs, y'see.) He doesn't think it affects his performance though. eeeee little smile! <3
Nick's phoning Amy. Must be feeling better after he almost DIED last week.
Amy wants to talk to the Professor's wife, alone. This could be bad.
Hall interviews Bernard. Bernard is upset about his expensive dental work. Ben is amused. (can I just say that Clé Bennett has THE DEEPEST VOICE IN THE WORLD.)
Terry and Ben through the glass: "You'll be hoping for someone like Bernard." "You mean a female like Bernard?" "I don't think you can be that choosey." HEEE.

Intense, emotional episode! I was creeped out more than once, too. Watching it in the dark? Not a wise move. *shudders*
SO. We had more bonding moments for Amy and Ben over some pretty serious stuff. Amy tells Ben about her step-dad abusing her, if only he could open up in the same way. He has a hard enough time trying to work things out with the Doc though, so I'm not sure Amy would be able to help at all. Her tearfulness annoys me, but I guess she had a good reason this time.
This episode was mostly 'alter' free, the only one we see this time is Sam, who goes to town kicking the crap out of the Professor. Harry is there in spirit. ♥ Terry and Hall continue to be the comedic double act, but play it tough when they need to. Well, Terry does at least. *g*
As for the lightbulb trigger, I wonder if this is because Ben was locked away as punishment when he was a kid. In a cupboard? Under the stairs? A basement? All part of his abuse if this is what's going on with him. :*( Important info will probably be lost as Global is skipping straight to episode 12 next week. The end is nigh, folks!
However! Bright spot on the horizon! The episodes do go up on the Universal site, they appear to be showing everything (YAY!) but I think the eps are only available for a few days after each one airs? Sadly I have not the channel or the means for recording it or I would be all over it, but hopefully someone else will be able to. Failing all that, we can kick Global in the shins. WHY WON'T THEY GIVE IT SOME LOVE?!
