Realizing you're stuck in a tree is a fairly simple conclusion to come by, but your body realizing it's stuck in a tree can result in a complicated biochemical response. The bladder relaxes, my pupils dilate, and the expansion of blood vessels in my muscles, all help when I'm suddenly holding onto the tree by my hands. When I was in third grade I got into a fight with the school bully. He was much bigger than I, and I wouldn't be surprised if I wasn't the only pummeling on his schedual for that day. I fought as best I could, but everyone knew it was pointless. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised to note that I'd lost my grip. Looking back, we can remark about the irony. How it must have been so thick, by this point, to completely cushion my fall.
I enjoy the first sentence, but I worry it's a bit too much. Any thoughts / crits / smiles?
