Survived Christmas. Handled/derailed two incidents as well as I could have expected, had a good visit with my sister, ran 8 miles on Christmas morning with virtually no walking despite the added excitement of hills, made preliminary arrangements with sister regarding Mom's upcoming surgery after care and discussed same with Mom. My mother is having a non-trivial surgery in January that will involve a week in the hospital and 3-4 weeks recovery time at home afterward. Things will probably go fine. I have fingernails! Which obviously requires explanation: I normally keep my fingernails very, very short because I hate the feeling of anything getting underneath them and they tend to be rather thin.
