train journeys are great...
you can't buy happiness. but you can't knock being financially comfortable. being able to buy a £90 train ticket for a weekend away without much thought (well ok, thinking "'kin 'ell, don't they come any cheaper?").
being on a 4-day contract and realising i don't need the 1-day wage. i might be further off buying a house, but even without the teaching i could just go with the 80% pay. i'm thinking that without the teaching, i would still do it.
why don't other people do it, if they can afford to?
there's just so much less life spent in the office, so much more time to think, to enjoy the weather...
is it utter laziness on my part? is it over-indulgent? should i live and breathe the work of my job? is it foolish (whatever-the-opposite-of-prudent-is)?
i suppose i would need a reason. employers are unlikely to accept the hassle of part-timers just because it's nice. mind you, maybe the're the smart ones - i regularly shoe-horn an extra day's hours into my week...
