Sort of like Mindy Ephron only not as cool

It's Sunday, I'm parked on the sofa and I need to find something to do. Oh yes, there are plenty of things to do around the house, or for work, but I do not feel like getting up off the sofa, so instead I present you this list of links I've bookmarked.

  • Zia Natural Skincare. I love their stuff. I buy it at Wholefoods. It's expensive, but it's good. The papaya enzyme mask is good, as is the SPF face moisturizer and the ultimate foot scrub. I especially like their oatmeal mask, but it's not on their website (ETA - because it's discontinued! Boo.).
  • How not to fall into the "mom" jeans pit. From Yahoo, advice on buying jeans so as to avoid the dreaded "mom" jeans. I realize now that I used to wear mom jeans. I didn't mean to. It's just that they were comfortable. I needed advice like this!
  • Forbes Global 2000. If you ever want to know what the largest companies in the world are, here's a handy wiki link. It's not perfect data since not all companies have their fiscal year end at the same time, and it doesn't include state-owned companies BUT it's interesting. Every time I read about Gazprom (#19), the massive Russian oil company, I think about Mikhail Khordokovsky, who is still in prison in Russia. He owned more than half of Yukos Oil, which eventually became the state-owned Gazprom.
  • Etsy.com. And now for something completely different. I think I first saw this on a friend's journal. It's a site to buy and sell handmade things. I haven't bought anything yet, so I can't vouch for its quality, but I like looking at the items. And I like the idea of a site like this.
  • Worldwide Metric conversion. Very useful: plug in numbers and it converts for you. I particularly like the volume calculator because I can never remember how pints, ounces, quarts, liters, gallons, etc relate to each other.
  • "Charlie bit me". I'm sure you've all seen these two English toddlers on youtube, but if you not, you have to watch. A friend at work sent it to me. The little one (Charlie) bites the older one's finger. Charlie's laugh and smile, to me, perfectly sums up the life of the younger sibling. It's partly the facial reactions, partly the accents, and partly just the scenario that make the video so cute and funny.

  • Unrelated, but today I tried a new perfume that has a grapefruit scent, and every time I smell it, I feel so hungry. Weird, huh?
