I think the phrase comes up too often each time a certain activity is being promoted to attract people. And the lengths that some people go to in order to achieve that goal! Too often, we're being constantly nagged at to do what we can to bag that first job. SEP, NOC, FOC, YEP, etc etc, just for a decent first job. Do people see beyond that? Do people see a lifetime of work beyond that first job? 5 years, 10 years, 20 years.. it's scary just to think about it. Suddenly the first job seems so much less significant in comparison to a lifetime of work. Work is just work lor, though I hope I won't end up being thinking of my job in this manner.
