No bad news here, just some… interesting times at the Rational Parrot household, which is going to get broken up into some separated posts, only because there is SO MUCH.

This is probably going to be the final ‘Official Cat Introduction’ update because Y is simply too easy. We’ve had her eight days, and she’s handled everything we’ve thrown at her and then some. She ignores the parrots, she’s met the Hater, she’s over the dogs.

Our household, particularly the trio of Orientals, deem that they should spend at minimum fourteen thousand hours a day playing with each other. The rest of the time should be spent attempting to fit in my lap, having love crisises that require immediate attention, and trying to steal the humans’ food. Occasionally, they sleep too.

I joked, after looking at these, that I probably could make a calendar entitled ’365 days of cats in baskets’. Apparently, I take a phenomenal number of pictures of that.

Or, there are several baskets in my house that can have cats in them.

I had December 21st - January 2nd off this year (though I ended up working a huge portion of it - part of the joys of working for a rapidly growing startup), and we decided to redo the master bedroom and bathroom, as well as use some of our Christmas money (and bonus money) to finally get a new couch and loveseat for the living room.

Things are keeping on as they do. Kitten is growing up and becoming a cat. Dogs are being doggy. Birds are being birdy. We got our first trace of snow last night.
