I feel that with such a short time of easy internet access left, i should be endeavouring to post a little of what it going on. As i haven't been very informative of late, there should, in theory, be quite a lot to tell. I've been here and there between the houses of friends and family - just for the odd visit. Though nothing really noteworthy has occurred.

The state of the housing market currently has begun to impact upon people i know now, as Paul has given up on the idea of being able to move to Manchester within the next 2 years, as it has become unfeasible. Even with the increase of the market value of his own property, the increase in the Manchester area has been so tremendous that he still would not be able to buy an equivalent house in any of the areas he would have liked to. Plus, his situation, like that of many others is not helped by the employment markets being so sluggish at the moment also. Anyone with aspirations of upwardly mobile-ness must feel awfully stifled in the current situation.

Gosh - i'm quite obviously desperate to get out of here today - i'm marking off each half hour that passes on my Outlook calendar!

Its a big day for Sam-the-Man today - its his first practice run at going to creche! I bet its very odd for Cat just having to leave him there - but as he is very much more mobile and vocal now (first word still pending though) i reckon he will get on with all the other little people just fine :-)

I am really looking forward to my holiday next week. I reckon it will do me the world of good. Especially as i can go away knowing that when i come back i haven't got to return to the pressures of this place! It'll also be really great in the Lake District if this lovely bright weather holds out. It may even end up being lovelier than when we went last time and that was in summer! Its just a shame that as it has turned out, we're going to be quite short of money this time, so we won't be able to treat ourselves to meals out as often as we'd have liked. I suppose thats the price i have to pay for being away from this job earlier than originally planned. But if we're careful with the small amount of money we have put to one side, after paying for the hostel there should be enough left for a few fun things. This time i shall have the camera as well, so i will be able to show mum and dad where we were staying and the surrounding areas.

sam, people-p, no internets!, holiday
