My final exam was last night.
I previously mentioned other people in the class being somewhat dim. Turns out I wasn’t exaggerating. I was the 2nd to last person to finish my exam. In the meantime, someone else had finished hers & handed it in. She’d answered the 1st question wrong. It was an important question & the answer was actually contained w/i the question. The instructor gave the test back & gave her another chance to change it. She just couldn’t figure it out. The woman sitting at the table right next to her had answered it correctly. The instructor asked the other girl if she didn’t look at the woman’s answer. The girl laughed knowing she was kidding about that. But she said she just didn’t know the answer & finally left. Same thing with someone else who turned their test in. Again the instructor gave ‘em another chance. I think that person figured it out & changed it. After everyone except me & L. had left, I finished mine & handed it in. Yes I’d gotten the first q right. But there were others I knew I got wrong. There was one the instructor caught that I’d answered wrong & she pointed it out. I knew it was 1 of 2 answers, & chosen the wrong 1. So I corrected it. She then went thru it some more & there was 1 I didn’t bother to even guess at. It was about Due Diligence. I couldn’t remember the answer for anything. L. didn’t know the answer either. The instructor started looking thru all the tests. Not only had many people gotten Q 1 wrong, only about 3 or 4 people had the Q about Due diligence right.
The worst part about the whole people being dim thing is that as the instructor was checking the tests, she also read some of the essays. There were 7 scenerios, we had to pick 4 & describe how we would handle being hired for the case. 1 of them was a case in which Jane Do hires us to find out where her husband spends all his time rather than being at home. The instructor was actually disgusted at 1 person’s answer. He said he would do a thorough background check including checking his bank accounts, etc. The real kicker was he also said he would interview all the husband’s friends, relatives and other witnesses.
Um, wrong. The last thing you want to do in a case like that is alert everyone he knows that someone suspects him of something. Especially if he is having an affair.
Yeah, I want real bad to graduate too, but I figure as long as I have to spend all that time & money I might as well learn what I’m there to.
