Ring, ring, ring, banana phone! No, not a banana phone. More like a banana text.
I started with two bananas. Because why not.
I poked holes in the first one with a meat thermometer. The oxidization happened pretty much immediately.
I used a straight pin on the other banana. It gave a slightly more subtle message.
After two minutes or so:
I waited a couple more minutes to see if the banana messages would get any darker, which they didn't. I wonder if it would have if I'd left it longer still. Not wanting to forget it overnight and draw fruit flies back into the kitchen, I decided to just be done with it and make banana chips in the dehydrator instead. I was a bit surprised to see one of the messages under the peel.

And now there's a tray of banana slices in the dehydrator on their way to becoming chips!
