anonymously4's birthday was celebrated with attitude and pulchritude. Dinner and music and bar-hopping. Well, bar bouncing since we went from HG to EE and back again.
So that was fun. It won the BEST BIRTHDAY EVARRRRR award, so I guess we did something right. I think it was niece Amy's surprise visit that made it the best ever. And the new puppy.

Maybe north of Wilmington WOULDN'T be so bad. I'm trying to decide if I have the stomach for the hardcore 'burbs. (Which are probably not at all hardcore, hence the problem with them.) I saw a listing for one place right over the border in PA - longer commute, but one could vote against Santorum if one were so inclined...
I must get away from the computer, as it is not going to yield an answer, easy or otherwise, but is only going to depress me with its plethora of depressing sh**holes for rent, here and otherwise.

***bangs head on desk again, but is no longer able to remember why is banging head, due to the vigor involved in the first two bangings.***

It was this site. Every single place seems to have holes in the wall and rats and garbage everywhere and loud noises and notes from tenants and former tenants saying DO NOT LIVE HERE!!
I know the only people who post to these things are disgruntled, but it doesn't give me a warm-fuzzy to try any of these places either. Doesn't anyone ever live someplace nice??? Away from Dave and Julie?

You know, a lot of places are different than they used to be, as a few large student-only complexes have been built in the last few years. They've all gone over there and really reduced the student population in most of them.
Also: look at Delaware City. It's a quirky little Northern Exposure town right on the canal, close to New Castle. anonymously4 lives there. I can't believe I didn't think of that earlier. It would be more townhouses and broken-up big houses there, not complexes.
