an update of sorts

oh i so love it when my internet finally decides to work. So the last week since I got back I've been doing nothing much besides dividing my time between working and taking care of the sick family member. It's been chaos... but that's okay because I like chaos. So monday my mum stayed home then I switched my schedual to be working only mon, wed, and fri. (not just because of cleo, but because my co-worker is in school now and can only work tues and thurs and this way with her out of the office I can have the good computer and scanner and I can get work done.) So I stayed home on tuesday and today and just took care of cleo. She's sick. She's old. She's dieing. She was in the hospital and they gave her like a week to live. She couldn't walk, barely ate, barely could move on her own. She came home on Saturday and by Monday mum work me up at 4am saying 'hey! come here! look!' and had me come into her room to witness that the cleo had moved from her cat bed to underneath the desk on the opposite side of the room. So within about two days she was walking. Now she's eating on her own, drinking, going to the bathroom and walking all on her own which is great. So until we know what's going on with her we're still prepairing for the worst and we're kinda hunkering down at home with her for a while.

So the job is going good. I've also started looking online at other jobs, mostly in New York, Washington DC or Boston right now (mum's request to stay in the states i guess is another influence) and I updated my paltry looking resume finally. But work's keeping me busy. My job is much harder sounding then it actually is. If you're at all curious this is what I do all day: I get a number of folders, open them, take out the stappled packets inside, unstaple them, sort them, scan them, make sure they've scanned correctly, then restaple the packets and put them back in the folder and continue with another folder. rinse. repeat. But I've been meeting other people in the office. I met this really nice woman the other day in the bathroom of all places and we started chatting and I found she's from Częstahowa (I totally spelled that wrong. oops) the town near Kraków and we talked about Poland for a while. There's a number of Polish born women in that office actually. It's quite nice. I'm thinking of taking Polish lessons again and actually trying to learn this language... but then I think that and I think it's a good idea then I look at a Polish grammar book and see how horrible the language is and how hard it is and I wonder just what the hell is wrong with me for wanting to do something foolish like that.

So that's it. That's my life...

... I so need to get outta this place.

cleo, polish, work, sickness
